Yes, you read that right.
Get your head out of the oven!
Yesterday I was determined to light up my pizza oven and show my husband I could do it all on my own without him.
He was away for work, so even if I wanted his help it wasn't even an option.
My ego was smug
My expectations sky-high
And due to being super keen, i started early - 4pm to be exact.
Wood? Check. Firelighter? Check. Confidence? Overflowing.
But.. it didn't catch.
I persisted. 45 minutes passed. Then a full hour. Eventually, a small flame came to life and I practically did a victory lap around the yard.
I was excited, smug and ready to gloat.
Even though it was only 200 degrees (not hot enough), I ran inside, prepped my pizza like a queen, slid it in...
…and then the unimaginable happened.
The fire fizzled out.
Turns out, the wood hadn’t caught properly, and everything just… died.
There I was — cold, hungry, and staring at a half-cooked, sad, soggy pizza.
Me. The woman who literally studied fire engineering in a past career. Oh, the irony.
So what did I do? Did I call for help? Absolutely not.
I frantically searched the yard for anything safe to burn and then I went into survival mode - what if we were on a deserted island? How would i survive if i couldn't even keep a fire going?
I doubled down. Spent another hour, head in the oven, getting smoked out by stubborn wood and my even more stubborn pride.
Eventually — defeated and smelling like I’d rolled in a bonfire — I took my pizza inside and cooked it in the regular oven.
Three hours. For one pizza!!!
And it hit me — this is exactly what the healing journey can look like sometimes.
We hit a wall. Get stuck and push harder.
We get frustrated, clingy and try to figure it out on our own — letting our ego take the wheel, convincing ourselves we should be able to do it without support.
But the truth? Sometimes you’re so deep in the smoke, you can’t see what’s really going on. You're too close. Too in it.
And the more you fight, the more you feel like you’re failing.
If you're in that place — stuck, frustrated, spiraling in self-doubt and wondering why isn’t this working? — I see you.
When we push we can easily find ourselves down rabbit holes that lead to nothing but wasted time, energy and finances.
That's when you need to step back (literally) and take your head out of the oven.
You see when your so deep in it and the smoke is bellowing you cant see what's wrong and because your so determined, you persist for longer.
And frustratingly, nothing moves how you want it to..
Knowing when to pivot and change direction is key.
Sometimes you need something completely different to what you’ve be doing or told to do.
This is why i use emotional release technique (ERT)- to clear the invisible blocks you or I can't see.
I communicate directly with your unconscious nervous system to unlock where you are stuck and release it.
Its a game changer in healing with guaranteed results.
So next time your feeling frustrated when your not where you are or manifesting what you desire, take that step back and allow yourself to be open to seeing a different way.
